The Mermaid & the Dhow

Original mixed-media painting.
A dreamlike mermaid rests at the water’s edge as a traditional dhow drifts across the horizon. Painted in soft washes of aqua, blush, lavender and warm gold, the piece combines loose expressive linework, layered texture and metallic details with an almost storybook quality — a meeting of Gulf nostalgia and fantasy.
